Les chasseurs de Monstres se mettent sur la piste de leurs nouvelles proies dans Sunbreak, l’extension massive de Monster Hunter: Rise, l’action/RPG encensé par la critique sur Nintendo Switch et PC (Steam).
Sunbreak reprend tous les fondamentaux de Monster Hunter: Rise tout en transportant les joueurs dans le lointain « Royaume » où ils vont découvrir un nouveau scénario, combattre de nouveaux monstres, maîtriser de nouvelles options de combat,
explorer de nouveaux lieux, se frotter auxquêtes de rang Maitre et expérimenter d’autres nouveautés passionnantes !
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak se déroule après la défense héroïque du village de Kamuravécue dans Monster Hunter: Rise.
La nouvelle de la survie du lieu a traversé les mers et a motivé le chevalier Dame Fiorayne à voyager depuis le lointain Royaume pour demander de l’aide. Les chasseurs assez courageux pour répondre à l’appel se sont dirigés vers le port de l’avant-poste d’Elgado.
Ce centre de recherche et de commandement est chargé d’arrêter la menace qui pèse sur le Royaume. En tête de la liste des cibles figurent de puissantes créatures inspirées des classiques de l’horreur gothique, connues sous le nom des Trois Seigneurs.
Ce trio infernal comprend le puissantGarangolm, l’effrayante Wyverne à crocs Lunagaron et le Dragon ancien vampirique Malzeno.
En plus de ces ennemis cauchemardesques, d’autres variantes de monstres et d’anciens ennemis de retour d’autres épisodes, comme le Magnamalo enragé, l’Espinas et le Shagaru Magala, font leur apparition pour défier les chasseurs dans les nouvelles quêtes de rang Maitre.
Afin d’affronter ces forces dévastatrices de front, les chasseurs qui arrivent à l’avant-poste d’Elgado devront trouver de nouvelles façons d’aborder le combat. Si le village de Kamura était réputé pour ses techniques uniques de Filoptère, notamment les attaques Liens de soie et les Chevauchées de Wyvernes, les Chasseurs convoqués cette fois-ci par le Royaume apprendront de nouveaux Talents de substitution et auront également la possibilité d’utiliser la nouvelle capacité de Transfert de Talents de substitution.
Cette dernière permet d’assigner des Talents de substitution à deux différentes configurations qui peuvent être modifiées à la volée pendant une chasse. La flexibilité supplémentaire permettant de choisir les compétences les mieux adaptées à chaque situation permet aux joueurs, avec un peu d’expérience, de surmonter presque tous les obstacles.
En cas d’attaque ennemie lors d’un changement de compétences, il est possible d’effectuer un Transfert Esquive dans n’importe quelle direction pour éviter le danger ou se repositionner pour poursuivre l’attaque.
L’enquête sur les Trois Seigneurs conduit les chasseurs à travers le Royaume dans des lieux nouveaux et réimaginés, dont la Citadelle et la Jungle. La Zone de la Citadelle regorge de pics enneigés qui tombent en cascade sur des forêts luxuriantes fourmillant de nouvelles formes de vie endémiques. Au centre de cette vaste région se trouve une forteresse abandonnée depuis longtemps, qui sert de bastion aux monstres qu’elle était censée repousser. La jungle quant à elle, est de retour de la deuxième génération de Monster Hunter™ et bénéficie d’un climat chaud et de pluies abondantes, ce qui en fait un paradis pour les monstres et les plantes qui y vivent.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak propose également de nouvelles façons de se lier à l’attachante galerie de personnages du jeu grâce aux nouvelles Quêtes Parangon. Ces chasses en solopermettent d’accomplir des quêtes avec les personnages du mode Histoire. Chaque Parangon bénéficie d’une spécialisation propre et peut même aider le chasseur en lui permettant derécupérer de la santé, en plaçant des pièges et même en chevauchant des monstres pour renverser le cours de la bataille.
Les membres de l’avant-poste d’Elgado comme Fiorayne, Luchika, Jae, l’amiral Galleus et Maître Arlow seront accessibles en tant que Parangons, ainsi que les membres du village de Kamura comme Hinoa et Minoto. Les joueurs débloqueront des Parangons au fur et à mesure de l’avancée dans l’histoire, et pourront même gagner des récompenses exclusives en accomplissant des Quêtes de ce type.
